Remember how I said I hated fanfictions?

...While I still dislike them greatly when the authors have a complete disregard for characterization and plot,...however,I have finally had an idea that will actually stick.

You see, 'Hand of Sorrow', another fic I had in mind, was mostly going to be written out as a fanfiction because people that knew me had read it in it's original form and enjoyed it. The fic was actually based on a Role Play between myself and Meghan1317. I liked the way that it had developed and thought that others would like it as well, so we let a few people have a look at it.

We never ended up finishing it...mostly because the plot seemed to die off after a while. Not to mention, it became overly fluffy and frilly for my tastes. SO! We scrapped it.

HOWEVER! We have found one that we have actually planned out to the end...and I've fallen in love with it.

It started when I took her and several of our closest friends to see The Dark Knight the night it opened. We were left absolutely slack-jawed by the whole thing. However, I was extremely disappointed Harley Quinn didn't make any sort of appearance..because I've been a Harley fan since I was a kid. I mentioned it to her and she proceeded to tell me that there was no way that Heath Ledger's absolutely brilliant version of the Joker could tolerate Harley. Thus began my quest to find the 'new' Harley Quinn.

I knew right away that her original characterization wouldn't work out for this version, so I had to completely scrap the original...leaving only her name, her profession and how she met the Joker. I had to build her from the ground up...and frankly, I've never had more fun creating a character in my life. Honestly...I have NEVER become THIS emotionally attached to a character before.

When I presented 'Harley 2.0' as I call her to Meghan1317, she absolutely loved the idea. Thus, another role-play began. I have to say, this may be one of our most natural and enjoyable Role Play/Stories we've ever come up with. We plan to have a few of the other original Batman villains and characters make prolonged appearances one she breaks the Joker out of Arkham Asylum, as well as a few [extremely short-lived] characters that we created and threw in.

I honestly can't wait to get working on it. She plans to illustrate some of the scenes we've already written...like during Harleen's sessions with the Joker, etc. She has proposed that we write it from two different vantage points...and I'm not quite sure how I'll manage on that...but we'll see. I like the idea...but I don't think myself to be as talented as she is.

However! I do hope to start off and post up as soon as possible. 'Something Wonderful' will still be coming up as sample chapters, but I'll be keeping most of that to myself...^-^;; Sorreh.

Maybe I'll have chapter one of the Harley story up...in three-four days? Maybe. We'll see how it goes. A week, at most.
